Tonic is made by Sets Studio LLC, a small independent studio. We built it because we wanted it ourselves: a way to earn your screen time by doing the things you already meant to do, with no check-ins and no proof photos.

What Tonic is

Tonic locks the apps you choose until you earn your way back in, by spending time in a productive app or doing a healthy activity it reads from Apple Health, like a workout, meditation, steps, or time in daylight. For apps that just need a boundary, you can set a limit instead. You decide the rules, and you can change or pause them any time. It is for you, by your own choice, not a parental control.

Why we understand this deeply

Tonic is built entirely on Apple's Screen Time and Apple Health. Those systems are powerful but full of quirks, and most of this help center exists because we hit those quirks ourselves while building and testing on real devices. When an article explains why iOS holds a locked app's notifications, or why time in daylight needs an Apple Watch, that is first-hand knowledge, not guesswork.

How we handle your data

There is no account and no sign-in. Apple's Screen Time hands Tonic anonymous tokens, so we never see which apps you pick. Your Apple Health readings are used on your device to run your rules. The full detail is in our privacy policy.
