Nothing is broken. The Apps tab shows your usage, not where you set limits, and it includes only the apps Screen Time has shared with Tonic. If it renders blank, switch to another tab and back, or reopen Tonic. A blank view is a known iOS quirk, not lost data.
What the Apps tab is for
The Apps tab is a view of how you actually spent your time today: real app names, icons, and minutes, with the apps you earn with and the apps you unlock called out. It is a mirror, not a control panel. You do not set limits here. You create and adjust limits from your rituals and limits, and this tab simply shows the usage behind those choices.
If you came here expecting to add a limit, that is the most common mix-up. Nothing is missing. You are just on the view-only screen.
If the tab is blank
Sometimes the usage view paints empty for a second. The data is there, iOS just did not finish handing it over in time. This is a known iOS behavior, not a Tonic bug and not lost data.
- Switch tabs and come back.Tap any other tab, then return to Apps. The usage view almost always loads on the second look.
- Reopen Tonic. If it is still blank, close Tonic fully, open it again, then return to the Apps tab.
If it shows only one app (like Messages)
The Apps tab can only show apps that Screen Time has shared with Tonic. If you see just one or two apps when you know you use more, Tonic was likely given limited Screen Time access, so iOS is passing along only a slice of your usage.
- Open the iPhone Settings app. Then go to Screen Time.
- Check that Tonic has access.Make sure Screen Time is on and that Tonic is allowed to read your activity. If access was narrowed or declined, your usage will look sparse.
- Keep using your apps, then check back.Usage is for today and fills in as you use your apps with access turned on.

What we cannot fix
The blank render comes from iOS, and there is no setting on our side that makes it never happen. We have tuned the tab to reload quickly, but an occasional blank frame is an Apple behavior. A tab switch or a reopen clears it every time.
